My very first classes
Did I mention that we bought a house with a campsite and rental apartments? That’s where I found my very first yoga students. In the beginning, I started small, teaching yoga classes outdoors. I had purchased a few mats from Decathlon and offered one class a week.
It was a simple setup, but it was a beautiful way to start – surrounded by nature, breathing in the fresh air, and sharing yoga with guests staying at our property. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that the Portuguese sun could be a little too warm for outdoor classes, especially as summer temperatures climbed.
Luckily, we had an unused space on the property that, although it needed some love and attention, had the potential to be transformed into a cozy yoga studio. With some effort, I cleaned and set up the space, and soon it became the new home for my classes. It was much cooler indoors, offering a welcome relief from the heat while still preserving the sense of calm and connection that yoga brings.
This small step marked the true beginning of my yoga studio. It wasn’t fancy, but it was perfect for what I needed at that time – a quiet and welcoming space to teach and grow. And from that simple, humble start, something much bigger began to take shape.
