What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of exercise that primarily focuses on core stability: the abdominal, back, and pelvic floor muscles. The exercises are varied and all have a positive effect on your posture. Attention is given to breathing and controlled movement. The great thing about Pilates is that it is suitable for everyone, whether you have experience or not. There is variety in the exercises, with alternatives available for every level.

Can I do Pilates?

Yes, you can do Pilates. Everyone can start Pilates. There are exercises for every level, and all levels are covered in the class. Some exercises may feel unfamiliar at first, but over time you will notice that your technique improves.

How does a class look like?

Every class is different, and yet there is a familiar structure in each session. A class is typically built up as follows: a gentle warm-up, controlled exercises on the mat, a focus on breathing and technique, and a closing phase with relaxation or stretching.

How can I prepare for class?

Wear light and comfortable clothing, and it is better to dress a bit too warm so you can take something off if needed, rather than too cold. You may also bring something to drink; there is always tea at the end of the class. You can perform the class on barefoot or special sport socks.

Give yourself a calm transition from your journey to the yoga class. Take your time getting here, and allow yourself a moment to settle in once you arrive.
